Fry Club U14B v Southmead.

On a very chilly and very windy evening at Fry Club the B team girls were looking for a good result against bottom of the table Southmead.

The game started to look very positive from the start with Danni having the first try at a shot on goal, unfortunately this did not result in a goal. Both teams looked very static at the start, with no one looking to be first to the ball, this meant the game had lots of passing but no real challenges for either team. Fry Club had about 4 chances for a goal, but some great goalkeeping by the Southmead keeper, kept the ball out.

Score at half time 0-0.

The second half started better with both teams looking for the ball. Some great midfield passing ended with the ball heading Amy's way, but with as she was not in a position to score she passed to Danni who scored the first goal.

Nearly all of the play continued in Southmead's area with Emily.T, Chelsie, Danni and Amy all having shots on goal, but some great skill by the Southmead keeper kept the goals out. Southmead relied on their keeper to clear all of the balls from a vast area around the goal.

A great pass from Emily Tite from midfield reached Amy ,who managed an easy but forceful shot straight into the back of the Southmead goal. Score 2-0. A change in midfield of Sophie for Emily T. bought a fresh pace to the game with some great challenges from Sophie and some good teamwork. More chances on goal including the last shot from Sophie kept the game alive for the last 5 minutes, until the final whistle.

Final score 2-0 to Fry Club.

Player of the Match Emily Dean for some fantastic defending at the back and solid non stop running. Also well done to the rest of the team, some better teamwork from everyone and some great football.
