1981-1988 : U10 to U16

1981-82 Somerdale Wanderers U10's

Formed in 1981 as Under 10's, we played our first season of friendlies for Mike Kempster. It was a fun environment and we won and lost as the season went on every Saturday morning.

1982-83 Somerdale Wanderers U11's

At the end of the first season, the decision was taken that would ultimately change Somerdale Wanderers forever. Instead of playing another season of U11 friendlies on Saturday mornings, Somerdale Wanderers entered for the very first time into the Hanham Minor League, beginning our association with Sunday morning football. John Tantrum took the reins for this season. The HML was still fairly early in its life, and there was just one division, but it set in motion a move to Sundays that would complete 20 years later with our withdrawal from the Saturday afternoon Bristol Junior League, and would be linked by Andy Glover, a player from this team instigating the move as the Manager of that team.

1983-84 Somerdale Wanderers U12's

In 1983, John Hicks and Tony Iles took over the team, and we followed our older teams into the Bristol Junior League, playing on Saturday afternoons

1984-85 Somerdale Wanderers U13's

We carried on in the Bristol Juniors League, but halfway through our U14 season John Hicks & Tony Iles stood down as managers and Craig Buxton took over.

1985-86 Somerdale Wanderers U14's

1986-87 Somerdale Wanderers U15's

Our final match as U15's was the traditional Manager's Match, which the Managers narrowly won.
