Ashton kick-off and we set about our task in a well organised fashion
with all the players wanting the ball and looking to play a nice passing game.
Ashton were first on the attack but the defence stood strong and any shoots that
did get through were well dealt with by our captain and goalkeeper Brandon.
After some good midfield play by Owen and Eli they pick out an inch perfect pass
to free the Birdman who scores at the second attempt after Ashton keeper pulled
of a good save from his first shoot 1-0.
Ashton start to force the pace of the game a little more and get a good
strike away on target but Brandon has it covered until it takes a deflection and
ends up in the net to make it 1-1. We then wake back up and force Ashton on to
the back foot. Ryan has a good strike on goal but the Ashton keeper saves well
to keep the score at 1-1 at half-time.
2nd
half
Ashton continue to press looking for the goal to make it 2-2 but the
defence is in no mood to make it easy for them, forcing all their attacks back
until the dying seconds of the game when Ashton score a scrappy goal to make the
final score 2-2.
M.O.M

1st
half
We soaked up the early pressure with stout defending by Josh and a good
save by Ellis which he didn't know much about.
After further pressure the Frys defence finally broke and Ashton went
1-0 up after four minutes. A further goal was on the cards and after six minutes
Ashton scored again to make it 2-0, despite some dogged defending by Dan.
Despite Frys coming back into the game with some good touches by
Matthew, Ashton hit Frys on the break to make it 3-0. The remainder of the half
was dominated by the midfield with Josh, Charlie and Matthew showing up well.
The half finished 3-0 to Ashton.
2nd
half
Frys started the second half well and after some early pressure Matthew
made a good run which ended in a good shot being well saved by their keeper.
Ashton came back into the game and were only stopped from going further
ahead by some good defending. With ten minutes gone Ashton scored to make it
4-0, and then they quickly followed that up with number five to make it 5-0.
Despite the result there were some good performance’s out there.
M.O.M
; JOSH SEELEY He was the rock at the heart of all the good play by the team and
solid in defence to.
NOTE 1; I would like to thank all the players and parents for
their support in recent weeks as I know it has been hard training and having no
matches at the end of it.
NOTE 2 ; We hopefully will have four teams running next year at
under nines as two of the parents have stepped forward to run the team on match
days.
