AVON YOUTH LEAGUE U’15 DIV 3

WEDS 18 APRIL 07

FRY CLUB COLTS        6

SHIRE COLTS ‘B’         2

The start of our final run in of 4 home games in 11 days put us on Pitch 3 against our last opponents some 4 weeks ago. All 15 players were available for selection

Following their late arrival, we started very strongly forcing the defence back on several early occasions. Despite going close it was in the 18th minute that we finally scored through a great through ball to Brad Monelle who beat the keeper well.  For the next 20 mins we continued to dominate the play having 2 good chances from Brad Monelle and 1 from Kyle Curtis cleared off the line.  In defence both James Boulton and James Hurrell Smith were playing very well, stopping any serious threat on our goal. Finally, in the 39th minute we got a deserved 2nd goal again from Brad Monelle to go into half time 2- 0 up.

It was important that we kept pushing forward as Shire were showing good signs when attacking, although in goal Craig Francis was handling well. In the 50th min, Brad Monelle won a deserved penalty which was converted by Jordan Knight. As the game became more open, so our possession increased. Craig Andrews was brought on and had an immediate impact as a great through ball gave him a chance inside the penalty area which he volleyed in with great composure.  Shire did continue to push forward and were rewarded with 2 goals through errors but we responded with 2 late goals from Brad Monelle, to complete his hat trick and Mo Bouaziz, who with Oli Randall worked very hard in Midfield, supported very well by Danny McCarthy.

A deserved 6 – 2 win which brought us back level on points at the top.

3 great performances for Man of the Match from James Boulton, James Hurrell Smith and Brad Monelle but it was awarded to Brad Monelle for a great striking performance.
