Frys Girls Bow Out At Semi Final

Fry Club U18 Girls bowed out of the GFA U18 Plate semi-final after a tough game against a strong Tuffley Girls side. It was Frys who took the game to Tuffley from the 1st whistle, and created some great chances before Ellie Brockton scored from a corner, Tuffley 0 - 1 Frys.  Within minutes Emily Rose was brought into action with a superb one-handed save to the right side of her goal to tip the ball away for a corner.  Frys kept attacking and were excellently marshalled at the back by Kelsey Manning and Amy Croom.  On 35 minutes Tuffley broke away on a counter attack and pulled level with a long range shot which nestled in the top right of the goal, Tuffley 1 - 1 Frys.  Frys carried on threatening the Tuffley goal and saw shots from Jade White and Ellie Brockton come back off of the woodwork.  After the break it was Tuffley who attacked, however Frys went close to regaining the lead.  Frys stood strong with some great tackling, however in the 75th minute Tuffley created a well-worked goal and scored what eventually proved to be the winner Tuffley 2 - 1 Frys.  Frys attacked for the remainder of the game but were unable to get a clear shot at the Tuffley net to get the goal needed to take the match into extra-time.
