Mitchell Leaves Darlington - 29th July 2019
Whenever a Manager changes at a Club there is confusion and doubt over the future for the players and backroom staff, followed by opportunities or exits. As soon as Alun Armstrong was announced as the new Manager of Darlington he made it clear that he only wanted players who lived within 30 to 45 minutes of the ground which put six players from the Midlands area of the UK on notice to leave; Mitchell amongst them, and although he wanted to fight for his place, if you are not wanted, that becomes impossible. Of the six, at this date only one remains although interestingly, this is the one who made three appearances for the England C team the previous season...
Mitchell Glover leaves Quakers from the official Darlington FC webpage and their Facebook announcement.
Glover Gone, as reported in The Northern Echo.
