Mitchell joined up with his ex-Nuneaton and Darlington Manager again at Stratford and played a full 90 minutes straight away in a pre-season derby, scoring a penalty and winning 3-0.

Monday 5th August 2019 saw Stratford host Evesham for their final pre-season friendly. Stratford lost 3-2 and Mitchell played 75 minutes, scoring a scorcher.
