Dave with his award

Dave joined the Club in 1997 when his eldest son Tom joined the Under 8's, which at the time was managed by Rob Skuse.  A year later Dave took over the team as Rob dropped an age group with his son, and Dave never looked back.  He managed his team from 1998 to 2006 when they finished their U16 year, which allowed Dave four more years to be able to watch his youngest son Alex who played for Mark Welsford's team.  In the midst of all of this, Dave committed more of his time to the Club when he took over as Secretary in 2001, a role he filled for 16 years until the close of this season when work pressures meant that Dave no longer had the time. Near the end of his spell however, Dave was able to cover the role of Treasurer for three years, from 2012 to 2015. As a Club we are hugely grateful to the efforts and commitment of both Dave and his wife Tracy, a regular supporter and helper at the Club, especially on our Tournament weekends when her help was invaluable.  Without people such as Dave and Tracy, grassroots football simply wouldn't function, as their volunteered time is what enables our boys and girls to play.  For that we remain indebted to Dave, and are truly grateful, and we hope that in a few years time Dave might return with his grandchildren.
