SFA Charter Standard Awards - 17/07/2006 
 
To honour the achievements of Fry Club Juniors in attaining the FA Charter Standard Club status in the 2005-06 season, we were invited by the Somerset FA to attend an awards ceremony with all of the other Clubs who have achieved various standards this season.

As part of that award, we were asked to nominate two volunteers to receive awards as part of the football workforce, one an Under 18 volunteer, and the other an adult. The Chairman of the Club nominated Tom Baker, Assistant Manager of the Under 9 Colts for the Under 18 award, and Dave Worlock, Manager of the Under 16's and Club Secretary, for the adult volunteer award. On Monday 17th July 2006 Dave, along with Club Chairman Andy Glover went to the Hand Stadium in Clevedon to receive the awards (Tom unfortunately had work commitments). Dave collected his certificate with a vintage style timepiece, as well as Tom's certificate with a sports bag. Andy collected the Club's Charter Standard Highly Commended certificate along with a medal. Pictures of the award winners can be below, along with the certificates and the Club's medal.

All of these help validate the Club's effort and commitment to the Charter Standard ideas, with all Managers attending coaching courses, child care courses and first aid courses. Along with this, the Club are now in the process of ensuring that all volunteers have received a Criminal Records Bureau check to help make Fry Club Juniors a safe, well run, well organised Club. We are proud of our achievements over recent years and hope that our members share that pride. The next step is to achieve the FA Charter Standard Development Club Status, something that we will be working towards this coming season. A lot more goes into running a Club of this magnitude than just turning up at training and at games, and it is nice when someone else, like the County FA , recognises and awards that.
