Development so far

     •       The Girls section was formed in June 2003.

We want our younger players to have the opportunity to play in a team of either suitable standard or age group as well as enjoying the benefits of being part of a larger club. Whilst being able to progress individually they should have the opportunities to further their footballing careers.

The Girls enjoyment and safety is priority. The girls teams have shown a fast improvement as evidenced by winning the Bristol Girls League 7–a-side Under 12’s league at the first attempt in the 2003/2004 season.

We play our home fixtures at Somerdale Keynsham.

        Great support from parents.

We won the very first Tournament ever entered as Fry’s girls.

The whole Club is a FA “Charter Standard Development Club”.

Today we run teams at Under 7’s upwards to our Women's Team.

We play in the Bristol Girls League.

       Qualified FA Coaching.

       Affiliated to the Somerset FA.

Our own designated Club Welfare Officer.

The main purpose of running a girls section is to ensure that the Club provides a team to compete in the League, whilst being responsible for all the activities that go with each team.

We encourage teamwork and try to run training sessions to develop the girl’s skills to the best of the Coaches and the individual’s abilities.

         Long Term Goals

Develop & establish Managers for each age group.

Establish training requirements for all Managers/personnel connected with the Club i.e Child Protection etc.

Seek continued sponsorship for kit, water proof tops, training tops (sweat shirts), kit bags etc.

Establish Fry Club JFC Girls club infra-structure between both the boys and the girls teams.

Build on the current success and establish a detailed 2 year development plan for the girls club, which will also allow the girls side to grow into a successful outfit.
