Frys Manager Passes Away

Lee Stenner

It is with the deepest regret that Fry Club JFC have to announce the death of Lee Stenner.  Lee was the main stakeholder in the inception of our Girls Section and a great friend to many in the Club.  His funeral will be at Westerleigh at 2.30pm Tuesday 27th October 2009.  The family have asked for donations to the Heart Foundation.  Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.

Memories of Lee, By Jackie Tite, Fry Club Girls Liaison

We were first aware of Lee's passion and drive for girls football when he was doing a leaflet drop with his daughters for a girls team at Frys.

Emily joined the team and with Lee's great coaching progressed to the good player that she is today. Lee always encouraged the girls to the best of their ability and also encouraged the parents to join in. Without Lee's persuasion I doubt I would have gone for my Level 1 coaching, but I did and took over the team while Lee progressed further with the Bristol Girls League.

Lee spent most of his spare time between running the league, coaching both of his daughters with their football and running them around to matches, but these were all the things that he enjoyed doing to further progess girls football within our area.

We are still continuing with girls football at Frys and we are determined that this will continue for a long time.

Lee will be greatly missed by all concerned with girls football in the Bristol and Gloucester area, but he will be missed most of all by all of the girls that he coached and all of the managers and parents that he came into contact with weekly at Fry Club.
