SFA Charter Standard Awards - 18/10/2007
The Somerset FA hold their Charter Standard
Award Ceremony each year to reward those Schools, Clubs & People who have
improved the game around them. At the 2006 awards, Dave
Worlock was a Workforce award winner for his work as Secretary and Manager
at the Club, Tom Baker was
the U18 Workforce winner for his help with a Frys Junior team, and the Club
was Highly Commended in the Charter Standard Club section. On Thursday
18th October, Chairman Andy
Glover, Secretary Dave Worlock and Webmaster Paul Tompkins went to Huish
Park, the home of Yeovil Town, where Andy represented the Club to receive our
recent Charter Standard Development Club award.
Also at the ceremony, we were
surprised to hear that this year we were the Charter Standard Club Winners,
with Dave Worlock receiving that award. In the Workforce section, Paul
Tompkins was rewarded for his work on our website (www.fryclubjfc.co.uk)
and he too picked up an award.
For our Club, again this is justification of the
hard work that the whole Management Committee have put in, not just over the
last season, but in the previous ones too, making sure that all teams have a
Level 1 qualified coach, that all those involved with the running of the Club
have had a Criminal Record Bureau check, and that the Club is run in a fair
and inclusive manner for girls and boys. There are other awards that are
on offer and this year we will be looking to improve the Club again, so that
we are nominated in more categories, not because we like winning awards
(although we do!) but as validation of the hard work that this Club has done,
to make it the safest and best Club in the South West.
Andy Glover - Chairman, Fry Club Juniors
